Your BCM Is VIN-Locked — We Clone It

The Body Control Modules on these vehicles are VIN-locked from the factory. Unlike most GM BCMs, the VIN cannot simply be reprogrammed to a replacement module. If your BCM has failed, the replacement must be cloned from your original — copying all VIN data, security keys, and vehicle configuration to a new unit.

That's what we do. Send us your old BCM and your PCM. We clone your BCM data to a tested replacement and disable VATS in your PCM so there's no 30-minute security relearn after install. Plug both modules back in and drive.

This listing covers GM BCM part numbers:

15942206 · 19119309 · 15862061 · 25803426 · 15917661 · 10337595 · 10366059 · 10388479 · 15225747 · 15242477 · 15247348 · 15297495 · 15298861 · 25794556

How It Works

  1. Order and ship us your original BCM and your PCM.

  2. We clone your BCM — VIN, security data, and vehicle configuration are copied to a tested replacement module.

  3. We disable VATS in your PCM — eliminates the 30-minute Passlock relearn after install.

  4. We ship back your new cloned BCM and your PCM. Plug both in and go.

Price: $275.00 (includes BCM clone + VATS disable)

Why Do You Need to Send the PCM Too?

These BCMs use a security handshake with the Powertrain Control Module. Rather than making you sit through the 30-minute Passlock relearn cycle (sometimes multiple times), we disable VATS in the PCM while we have it. This means your vehicle starts immediately after install — , no waiting, no extra procedures.

What Is a Body Control Module?

The Body Control Module (BCM) controls your vehicle's power windows, door locks, interior and exterior lighting, security system, climate control, and instrument cluster communication. When a BCM fails, symptoms include erratic lights, locks, and windows, no-start conditions, security light illumination, and loss of communication with other modules.

On these vehicles the BCM is VIN-locked — a used replacement from another vehicle will not work without cloning. The VIN, security seed, and option configuration are all tied to your specific module. A standard reprogram will not overwrite this data. Cloning is the only path to a working replacement.

After Installation

Because we clone the BCM and disable VATS in the PCM, the post-install process is significantly simpler than a standard BCM replacement:

Airbag Light / DTC B1001 (Option Configuration Error) An SDM Primary Key Setup procedure may still be required to sync the new BCM with the airbag module. This requires a Tech2 or compatible J2534 scan tool. We can walk you through this if needed.

Brake Pedal Position (BPP) Sensor Calibration A BPP learn procedure may be required to restore proper brake light operation and cruise control functionality.

No Passlock Relearn Required Because VATS is disabled in the PCM, there is no 30-minute security relearn. The vehicle will start immediately.

Why Use Our BCM Cloning Service?

Most shops — and even many dealerships — will tell you a VIN-locked BCM can't be replaced without buying a brand new module from GM and paying for a full dealer programming session. That's not true. We specialize in GM BCM cloning and have the tools to copy your VIN-locked data to a tested replacement. No dealer markup, no new-module-only pricing, no unnecessary hassle.

If you have questions about your specific vehicle or part number, contact us before ordering and we'll confirm compatibility.
