Core Return Policy

What Is a Core Charge?
When you order a Buy-A-Module service, you receive a fully programmed replacement module that you keep. The price of that order covers the replacement module(s), the licensed programming required to make them run in your vehicle, and our labor.
A core charge is a separate, partial credit included in the order. It reflects the resale value of your original used module once you return it — not the cost of the programmed replacement you received. Core values vary by platform; some modules are common and worth less, others are harder to source and carry a higher core value.
The core charge is not the price of your replacement module, and it is not the full balance of your order minus the tune. It is a set credit for returning your old unit, determined by us based on that unit's used-market value.
Core Credit
Your core credit is refunded in full when you return your original module in acceptable condition within 14 days of receiving your replacement. The credit amount is fixed per order and is shown on request — contact us before ordering if you'd like to know the core credit for your specific platform.
Core Return Requirements
To receive your full core credit, the returned module must be:
* Your original, matching module for the vehicle listed on the order
* In clean, undamaged condition — no cracked housings, bent pins, or water damage
* Free of paint, excessive dirt, or corrosion
* Returned within 14 days of receiving your replacement
Cores that arrive damaged, dirty, or painted may be docked or refused. If you're unsure whether your core is acceptable, email us photos at evan@ewaltsautotuning.com before shipping and we'll let you know.
If you experience any issues with your module or installation, the 14-day core return window will be extended until the issue is resolved.

Send Your Core First Option
If you select "You'll Send in Your Module" at checkout, you ship us your original module first. We flash it and send it back — no core charge and no relearn required, since you're receiving your own module back. This option costs less because no replacement hardware is supplied.
Tuned Module Policy
All modules are flashed on a per-order basis and are non-returnable once shipped. Defective products are covered by a 1-year warranty replacement.
