This privacy notice for Ewalt's Auto Tuning ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we collect, store, use, and share ("process") your information when you:

SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS
What personal information do we process? Contact details you give us, vehicle and module information you send for service, order and shipping information, and technical information collected automatically when you visit the site.
Do we process sensitive personal information? No.
Do we collect payment card numbers? No. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never received or stored by us.
Do we use analytics and advertising? Yes. We use Google Analytics site-wide and Google AdSense on our free resource pages. We do not run advertising on our service or checkout pages.
How long do we keep things? Order and tax records for as long as required by law. Calibration files and module data for as long as needed to support your vehicle, unless you ask us to delete them.
What are your rights? Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing. See "YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS" below.
1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Information you provide to us
Contact details — name, phone number, email address
Shipping and billing addresses — used to return mailed-in modules and fulfill orders
Vehicle and module information — VIN, operating system ID (OSID), module part numbers, hardware and software identifiers, original and modified calibration files, diagnostic data, and any notes or symptoms you describe
Order information — items purchased, service requested, order history, and correspondence about your order
Payment data. We do not collect or store payment card numbers, expiration dates, or security codes. When you make a purchase, payment details are transmitted directly to our payment processors — Squarespace Payments and, if you choose it at checkout, PayPal. We receive only confirmation of payment and limited non-sensitive details such as the last four digits and card brand. Depending on the method you select, payment may also be handled by ACH, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna, or Link through Squarespace Payments. See each provider's privacy notice for how they handle payment data.
A note on VINs and calibration files. A VIN can be associated with an individual vehicle owner. We treat VINs, module identifiers, and calibration files you send us as personal information and handle them under this notice.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers automatically collect:
Log and usage data — IP address, browser type and settings, operating system, device information, referring URLs, pages viewed, dates and times of access, and error reports
Approximate location — derived from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.

We process personal information when we have a valid legal reason: to perform our contract with you, with your consent, to comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate business interests that do not override your rights.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. This does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

Our Services may link to third-party websites or services we do not control, including forums, marketplaces, and vendor sites. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security. Review their policies directly.
6. COOKIES AND TRACKING
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and serve advertising on our free resource pages.
Essential cookies — required for the site, cart, and checkout to function

Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies, though some features may stop working. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and manage Google ad personalization in your Google account's ad settings.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
Order, invoice, and tax records — as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law
Calibration files, VINs, and module data — retained so we can support, restore, or revise your vehicle's tune. You may request deletion at any time; note that deletion may prevent us from recovering your original calibration later.
Correspondence — retained as needed to resolve disputes and support the work
Analytics data — per Google Analytics retention settings
When we no longer have a business or legal need, we delete or anonymize the information.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls on stored calibration and customer data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. INFORMATION FROM MINORS
We do not knowingly collect information from or market to anyone under 18. By using the Services you represent that you are at least 18, or the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to their use. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 18, we will delete it. Contact evan@ewaltsautotuning.com if you believe this has occurred.
10. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Know what personal information we hold about you and request a copy
Correct inaccurate personal information
Request deletion of your personal information
Opt out of targeted advertising and the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
Appeal a denied request (where state law provides for appeal)
To exercise any of these, email evan@ewaltsautotuning.com. We may need to verify your identity by matching information you provide against what we already hold. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days, extendable once where permitted).
California residents

Selling and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. However, we serve personalized advertising through Google AdSense on our free resource pages, and this may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law.
You may opt out of this sharing by using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in our website footer, by emailing evan@ewaltsautotuning.com, or by enabling a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor automatically.
We do not serve advertising on our tuning, service, or checkout pages.
Under California's "Shine the Light" law, California residents may request information about personal information disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Submit requests to evan@ewaltsautotuning.com.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other state residents
If your state has a comprehensive consumer privacy law, you have rights substantially similar to those listed above, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising. Submit requests to evan@ewaltsautotuning.com. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; we will respond to appeals within 60 days.
EEA and UK residents
You may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection under GDPR and UK GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We are based in the United States and process information there.
11. DO-NOT-TRACK
Most browsers include a Do-Not-Track feature. No uniform standard for responding to DNT signals has been adopted, and we do not currently respond to them. We do honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
12. UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE
We may update this notice from time to time. The updated version is effective as soon as it is posted, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be posted prominently on the site.
