FAQ

Will I need to take it to a dealer to program after install? No. Your TEHCM is flashed to your VIN before it ships. Install, clear codes, drive it.

Do I need to relearn shift adapts? Yes — like any TEHCM swap. GM service procedure: Fast Learn Adapt with a capable scan tool, or drive cycle adaptation over ~50 miles of mixed driving.

Can I run a Gen II TEHCM on a Gen I valve body? No. Different solenoid types (VBS vs VFS) and different hydraulic circuits. Stay within generation.

Will this fix my P0716, P0776, P0796, P0842, P0843, P0871, P0872, P0973, P0974, P0976, P0977, P2714, P2715 codes? If the failure is electrical/internal to the TEHCM (common on Gen I pressure-switch failures), yes. If solenoids or the valve body itself are damaged, the TEHCM alone won't resolve it.

Do you accept cores? Optional core return for credit — contact us before shipping.

Warranty? 12-month warranty on the module against electronic failure when installed in a mechanically sound transmission.
