How to Ship Your Module

Everything you need to know about sending your ECU, PCM, BCM, or other module for programming or repair.

Ship To Address

Mail your module to:
Ewalt's Auto Tuning
Att: Your Order Number
508 3rd St SE
Watertown, SD 57201
Important: Always include your order number on the package or on a note inside the box. This ensures your module gets matched to your order and processed quickly.

How to Pack Your Module

Modules are sensitive electronics. Proper packing prevents damage in transit and ensures your service goes smoothly.

1

Use an Anti-Static Bag

Place the module in an anti-static bag before anything else. If you don't have one, wrap it in a few layers of aluminum foil — this provides basic ESD protection. Do not ship a bare board in loose packing material.

2

Wrap in Bubble Wrap

Wrap the bagged module in bubble wrap or foam padding. You want at least 2 inches of cushioning on all sides. The module should not be able to move or shift inside the box.

3

Use a Sturdy Box

Use a new or solid corrugated box — no flimsy or damaged boxes. The module should fit snugly with padding on all sides. Fill any remaining space so nothing rattles around.

Do not use loose packing peanuts directly against the module. They generate static and can work their way into connectors. Always bag the module first, then surround it with padding.

What to Include in the Box

Packing Checklist

Your module (ECU, PCM, BCM, etc.) in an anti-static bag
A note with your order number
Your name and return shipping address
A brief description of the service needed (if not already discussed via email)
Any connectors, harness pigtails, or adapters if they were requested

If you've already discussed the job over email or through the contact form, just include your order number and name — that's enough for us to match it up.

Recommended Shipping Methods

Any major carrier works — USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Here's what we recommend:

Best option: USPS Priority Mail — typically 2–3 day delivery, includes tracking and $100 insurance, and the flat rate boxes work well for most modules.

If your module is high-value or hard to replace, consider adding extra insurance or using a service with signature confirmation. We are not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit before they reach us.

What to Expect After We Receive Your Module

Day 1 We receive your package and confirm it matches your order. You'll get an email confirmation.
Processing Orders may take up to 1 week to process depending on current queue and service complexity.
Completion Once the work is done, we'll email you with confirmation and a return tracking number.
Return Shipping We ship your module back via USPS Priority Mail (or your preferred method if discussed). Return shipping cost is included unless otherwise noted on your order.

If anything comes up during the process — unexpected issues, additional parts needed, or questions about your vehicle — we'll reach out before proceeding.

Shipping FAQ

Can I drop it off in person?

Yes — if you're local to Watertown, SD you can drop off and pick up in person during business hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). Contact us ahead of time to make sure someone is available.

Do I need to send the whole harness or just the module?

Just the module in most cases. If your service requires a bench harness or specific connector, we'll let you know before you ship.

What if my module is already bricked or won't communicate?

Ship it anyway — that's exactly what our bricked module recovery service is for. Include a note describing what happened (failed flash, no communication, etc.) so we know what to expect.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International customers are responsible for outbound shipping costs and any customs fees. Contact us first so we can coordinate the best shipping method for your country.
